The necessity to age of active and healthful form is an unquestionable fact in the society of the 21st century. But, where is attractive the special one of the University Programs for Majors? Why the majors strive in studying and sharing their experiences in the university classrooms? The answer cannot be simple, because they are not it either the factors that impel these initiatives: intellectual attitude, enriching context and diversity of educative surroundings.
 
Intellectual attitude defined by a feeling of inconformismo and curiosity with a marked desire of participation and commitment, because the programs it is necessary to understand them, in its individual and social dimension, like an act of collective enthusiasm in the value of the education.
 
The famous international information more agree in emphasizing the importance of the contexts in the strategic planning. The University Programs for Majors offer an enriching intergenerational context. On the one hand the contents and the educative experiences not only look for the mental and social development, but they offer, in addition, an attention call on the present and how to construct the future. On the other hand, the majors share concepts and emotions with the young people, contributing to create a university for all the ages.
 
Aside from other values, the pedagogical speech of the PUM is necessary to construct respecting it the diversity. The majors have a great heterogeneity of interests and expectations, also of knowledge and attitudes. The challenge for the university institution is to make them compatible from a logical and didactic point of view, providing new opportunities of development and learning that foment an active aging.
