The Social Security will compensate to 8 million and average of Spanish pensioners with 2,472 million Euros by the deviation of inflation to the rise, a 1.2%, on the anticipated thing for 2010. This compensation will be paid in one payment that will suppose a payment of 1,135 million Euros, and that will be entered the pensioners around the 20 of January of 2011.

The compensation by the deviation of inflation causes that, practical effects, the pensioners will see increased their pension as of January in a 1.2%, with general character, and in a 2.2%, for the 3.312.352 collectors of minimum pensions.

The compensation by the deviation of inflation does not affect the pensions that have been recognized throughout 2010.

The Spanish Social security system establishes the installment of the pensions in 14 payments to the year and anticipates a compensation in case the inflation is surpassed with which the pensions are revalued.
